The Tascón List ( La Lista Tascón ) was a digital database containing the names, signatures, national ID numbers ( cédulas ), and fingerprints of roughly 2.4 to 3 million Venezuelan citizens. Between 2003 and 2004, these citizens signed a petition requesting a constitutional recall referendum against then-President Hugo Chávez.
Following the collection process, President Chávez requested the National Electoral Council (CNE) to provide copies of the petition forms to pro-government legislator Luis Tascón . The official justification was to verify that signatures had not been falsified or identity theft committed.
